  1. The name of the Club shall be “Scalby Tennis Club”.
  2. The general management of the Club for all purposes shall be vested in a committee of seven members including the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer ex officio. Team captains not elected in any other capacity may be co-opted to the Committee at the discretion of the Chairman. Four members shall form a quorum.
    The Committee shall have the power to fill any vacancy in the Committee that may arise, and to appoint sub-committees as may be considered necessary.
    The Committee shall appoint a selection committee to select teams to represent the Club in matches.
  3. The Annual General Meeting of the Club shall be held during the first week in March of each year at which officers and committee shall be elected.
    Seven days notice of the meeting shall be given to each member, and only senior members shall have power to vote.
  4. A special General Meeting may be called by the Committee at any time and must be called within two weeks of receipt of a request to do so, signed by five members of the Club.
  5. No alteration of rules shall be made except by a 2/3 majority of the members present and voting at a Special or Annual General Meeting and the proposed alteration must be specified in the notice calling the meeting.
  6. The number of members shall not be set, but the upper limit shall be decided by the Committee. Junior and Intermediate members must be under the age of nineteen on the 1st of September. Students are persons receiving full time education living away from Scarborough during the term.
  7. Prospective members must be proposed and seconded by existing members and the election of new members shall be made by the Committee. It shall be competent at all times for the Committee to expel any member for wilful breach of the rules or other sufficient cause, subject to the right of such member to appeal to a general meeting of members.
  8. The following officers shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting and shall hold office until the next Annual General Meeting:-
    • President
    • Vice President
    • Chairman
    • Honorary Secretary
    • Honorary Treasurer
    • Team Captains
    • Honorary Auditor
  9. The Annual Subscription shall be the amount recommended by the General Committee, approved by the Annual General Meeting and must be paid by the 31st of May, or within one month of taking up membership.
  10. The Committee may decide to spend up to £500.00 on any one item that it feels will be beneficial to the Club.
  11. Members may bring a visitor, who is a visitor to the town, to the Club on not more than six occasions during the season on payment of the fee decided by the Annual General Meeting.
  12. It shall be competent for any member of the Committee present at the courts to arrange practice sets.
  13. The Committee may set aside a court on one evening each week for team practise.
